Westanbul also provides strong consultancy services in the poultry sector. Various poultry such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, and geese play a significant role in this industry. In Turkey, chicken is the most consumed meat per capita, with annual consumption exceeding 20 kilograms. In recent years, the increase in free-range farms and the use of technology has led to a significant rise in poultry meat exports. Turkey, especially with its large poultry meat exports to Russia, has gained attention in this regard.

Turkey ranks among the top three in Europe in egg production, with annual production surpassing 20 billion eggs. Organic eggs, produced in completely natural environments, are exported alongside chicken meat to several countries.

Poultry farming is a more cost-effective and simpler sector compared to cattle farming, which is why the number of poultry farms has significantly increased. However, certain factors must be considered to improve efficiency. Farms should be established in hygienic environments, far from residential areas and main roads. Additionally, vaccinations and high-quality feed directly impact productivity.

Turkey’s poultry meat production reached over 200,000 tons for the first time in May, marking a 4.4% increase compared to the previous year. During the same period, turkey meat production increased by 58%, reaching 6,888 tons. Meanwhile, egg production grew by 2.1%, reaching 1.603 billion eggs.

Recent data shows that poultry production in Turkey continues to rise. Compared to 2016, egg production has increased by 6.6%, while poultry production has grown by 11%, reaching 1.23 billion birds.
