In addition to chickens and turkeys, geese, rabbits and ducks are also part of poultry farming. The most consumed meat per capita in Turkey is obtained from chickens. According to the latest figures, annual per capita consumption of chicken meat is more than 20 kilograms. With the increase in free range farms and the use of technology in this area, an increase in chicken meat export figures has been observed. Russia is one of the countries where Turkey sells the most chicken.
Turkey is also in the top three in Europe in chicken egg production. Annual egg production is more than 20 billion. Organic eggs obtained from chickens raised in a completely natural environment are also exported to many countries along with chicken meat.
This type of livestock is much easier than cattle breeding. At the same time, there has been a great increase in the number of farms due to its low cost. In order to increase the efficiency of poultry farming, many points should be considered. Farms should be established as far away from residential areas and streets as possible. Coops should be fenced to prevent animals from leaving the farm. Vaccination and feed quality also directly affect the yield in sheep and goat farming.
